Bed Bugs app review

“Sleep tight, don’t let the bed bugs bite.”

That’s what people say when you’re heading off to dreamland. Sleep should be relaxing and peaceful time, but that’s not the case for the poor sleepwalker in “Bed Bugs.” From the makers of “Dizzy Bee,” comes a lovable game about a little guy who sleep walks through the night and gets in all sorts of danger. You, as the player, must let him dream away while you squish and protect him of the bed bugs!

Each level starts off with the sleepwalker in his bedroom. Once he falls into a deep sleep, he gets up and takes a stroll through various dreamscapes filled with all kinds of creepy crawly bed bugs! Your job is to squish those bugs as fast as you can. Use various multi-touch controls – hold, tap, and/or flick the bugs, but be careful not to hurt the fairies and the other good friendly creatures. Tapping on one of them will disrupt the sleepwalker’s snooze and will cause you to lose points!

One of the best challenges about this game is that it tests your hand-and-eye coordination, well in this case, your fingers-and-eye coordination! There’s no need for long instructions. The game is easy enough to pick up and play. There are 28 different levels with 4 of them being bonus levels. The bonus levels keep going until your sleep-meter is down to 0. There are also 28 unique enemies that you need to figure out how to defeat, and the animation is a lot of fun. The background music and sound effects are perfect for the game. Be sure to watch your sleep-o-meter and not let it get too low, else the sleepwalker will wake up and the level is over.

Level 9 seems to be the start of the more difficult levels. With the introduction of new bed bugs that take longer to squish as well as more bugs jumping out at a faster rate, it’s proves to be quite challenging to defeat. Once you defeat the game, you can go back and re-play each level to try to get a perfect score. One thing missing from this game is more replay value, but perhaps that’s something we can wait for in Bed Bugs 2.

Bed Bugs is very simple game yet is a lot of fun and will surely put a smile on your face.
